Carlos Alcaraz has proved that he learned from his disappointing loss to Novak Djokovic at the Madrid Open by defeating Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Alcaraz, 19, was beaten by Djokovic in the semifinals of the Madrid Open in May, but he has bounced back strongly at Roland Garros.

The Spaniard looked unstoppable in his victory over Sinner, the world No. 12, winning 6-3, 6-1, 6-2.

“I’m really happy with the way I played today,” Alcaraz said. “I think I learned a lot from my match against Djokovic in Madrid.”

“I think I played a very solid match today. I was very aggressive and I didn’t make many mistakes.”

Alcaraz’s victory over Sinner sets up a semifinal clash with Alexander Zverev, the world No. 3.

Zverev is a tough opponent, but Alcaraz will be confident of victory after his impressive display against Sinner.

“I’m just going to go out there and play my best,” Alcaraz said. “I’m not going to put any pressure on myself.”

“I think I’m playing well enough to win the tournament, but I know it’s going to be tough.”
