According to sources, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur and Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani are among the key ministers who are likely to be dropped from the Modi 3.0 cabinet.

Thakur, a four-time Member of Parliament (MP) from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, has been criticized for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and his statements on media freedom. Irani, a former television actress, has faced allegations of mismanaging her ministry and being involved in controversies.

Other ministers who may be removed from the cabinet include Prakash Javadekar (Environment), Ravi Shankar Prasad (Law and IT), and Thawar Chand Gehlot (Social Justice).

The cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place soon, with new faces likely to be inducted to bring in fresh ideas and improve the government’s efficiency.
