BCCI lodges ‘unofficial’ complaint over New York pitch ahead of Pakistan match

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly lodged an “unofficial” complaint over the pitch conditions at the Citi Field in New York, where India is scheduled to play Pakistan on October 23.
According to sources, the BCCI is concerned about the nature of the pitch, which is being prepared for the first time to host a cricket match.
The Indian team management is said to have expressed concerns about the hardness and dryness of the pitch, which they believe will favor Pakistan’s fast bowling attack.
The BCCI has reportedly approached the International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee, Jeff Crowe, to have the pitch inspected and to ensure that it is fair for both teams.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed the BCCI’s concerns, saying that the pitch will be prepared in accordance with ICC regulations.
