Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed his commitment to the principle of ‘sarv panth sambhav,’ which recognizes the equality of all religions.

Speaking at an event in New Delhi, Modi emphasized that India’s tradition has always been one of religious tolerance and harmony. He said that the country’s strength lies in its diversity of faiths and cultures.

“Our ancestors have given us the principle of ‘sarv panth sambhav’,” Modi said. “It is our duty to uphold this principle and ensure that every religion flourishes in our country.”

Modi pointed out that India has been home to numerous religions for centuries, including Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Jainism, and Buddhism. “This diversity is our wealth,” he said.

The Prime Minister urged people to respect all religions and refrain from any form of discrimination. “We must work together to create a society where everyone feels equal and respected, regardless of their religious beliefs,” he said.

Modi’s statement comes at a time when some sectors in India have expressed concerns over religious polarization. However, Modi made it clear that his government is committed to protecting the rights of all religious minorities.

“We will not allow any force to divide us on the basis of religion,” Modi said. “We will continue to work to promote harmony and understanding among all the different communities in our country.”
