Congress Mulls Retaining Rahul Gandhi for Raebareli Seat in Upcoming Elections

The Congress party is considering fielding its leader Rahul Gandhi for the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat again in the upcoming general elections. Wayanad is also under consideration, but Raebareli is seen as the more likely choice.

Rahul Gandhi has represented Raebareli since 2004 and has a strong connect with the constituency. His late mother, Sonia Gandhi, also held the seat from 1999 to 2004.

However, the Congress is facing a strong challenge from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Raebareli. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP’s Dimple Yadav came close to defeating Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress party is hoping that Rahul Gandhi’s popularity and the legacy of his family will help them retain the Raebareli seat. However, the BJP is also expected to put up a strong fight, making the contest in Raebareli one of the most closely watched in the upcoming elections.
