Currently, No Bird Flu Cases in Bengal: State Govt

Kolkata, West Bengal: The West Bengal government has asserted that there are currently no active bird flu cases in the state. This clarification comes after reports of suspected cases in some districts raised concerns.

State Animal Husbandry Minister Swapan Debnath stated that an investigation by the Animal Resource Development Department has revealed that all the samples tested negative for avian influenza. He emphasized that the department is closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary precautions to prevent any potential outbreak.

“We have conducted surveillance and collected samples from various poultry farms and backyard poultry flocks. All the samples have returned negative for bird flu. We have also instructed poultry farmers to maintain strict biosecurity measures,” said Debnath.

The minister urged the public to avoid creating unnecessary panic and cooperate with the government in implementing preventive Maßnahmen.
