‘Deeply Concerned’: PM Modi Condemns Attack On Danish PM Mette Frederiksen

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern over the attack on Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, calling it “an attack on democracy.”

On Sunday, a lone gunman opened fire on a crowd gathered outside a cultural center in Copenhagen, where Frederiksen was attending an event. The attack, which left three people dead and several injured, was widely condemned by world leaders.

In a tweet, PM Modi said, “I am deeply concerned by the attack on Danish PM Mette Frederiksen. An attack on democracy is an attack on all of us. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”

Frederiksen, who was unharmed in the attack, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support. “Thank you for the many expressions of sympathy. I am deeply moved. We will never give in to violence,” she said.

The attack has raised concerns about security measures in Denmark and other European countries. Several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have offered support to Denmark in the wake of the incident.
