Did I.N.D.I.A Offer PM Post to Nitish Kumar? Congress Responds to KC Tyagi’s Claim

Keywords: Nitish Kumar, Prime Minister, I.N.D.I.A., JD(U), Congress, KC Tyagi

In a political development that has sparked speculation, reports have emerged that the I.N.D.I.A. (Indian National Democratic Indigenisation Alliance) may have offered the post of Prime Minister to Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)).

The claim was made by JD(U) leader KC Tyagi, who asserted that I.N.D.I.A. had approached Kumar with the offer. However, the Congress party, a key constituent of I.N.D.I.A., has distanced itself from these claims.

“The Congress party has no knowledge of any such offer being made to Nitish Kumar,” said Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala. “We are not a part of any such alliance and our focus remains on strengthening the unity of the opposition.”

I.N.D.I.A. is a political alliance that was formed in 2021 with the aim of challenging the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The alliance includes several regional parties, including the JD(U), the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and the Samajwadi Party.

Nitish Kumar has emerged as a prominent figure in the opposition alliance, commanding respect and support from various parties. His JD(U) is considered a key swing party in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

If the reports of I.N.D.I.A.’s offer to Kumar are accurate, it would signify a significant shift in the political landscape. Kumar has been a critic of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but he has also been cautious about aligning himself with other opposition parties.

The Congress party’s response to Tyagi’s claim suggests that I.N.D.I.A. may be facing some internal divisions. The alliance is still in its early stages, and there are differences of opinion among its leaders about the best way to challenge the BJP.

The speculation surrounding the offer to Kumar is likely to continue in the coming days, as the opposition alliance seeks to finalize its strategy for the upcoming elections.
