Following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) defeat in the recent West Bengal elections, internal tensions have erupted within the party. Former state unit president Dilip Ghosh has openly criticized the leadership’s handling of the campaign.

In an interview with NDTV, Ghosh said that the BJP’s focus on “outsiders” rather than local leaders contributed to its loss. He also accused the party leadership of ignoring his warnings about the popularity of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee.

“We were like outsiders there. We did not have roots in the state,” Ghosh said. “The central leadership did not listen to me. They ignored me.”

Ghosh’s comments have sparked further unrest within the BJP. Several party lawmakers have expressed dissatisfaction with the leadership’s decision-making process.

Meanwhile, BJP national president J.P. Nadda is set to visit West Bengal to assess the situation and address the internal divisions. Sources within the party say that Nadda may replace some senior leaders in the state unit.

Ghosh’s outburst has highlighted the growing dissatisfaction within the BJP over its performance in West Bengal. The party’s defeat in the state has raised questions about its strategy and the leadership of its national president, Amit Shah.

It remains to be seen how Nadda will handle the internal unrest and whether he will be able to placate dissidents like Ghosh. The BJP’s ability to address its internal divisions will be crucial in determining its future prospects in West Bengal.
