Divisions Within: Mamata Banerjee Predicts NDA Implosion

Kolkata, August 18: Following the turmoil within the Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has predicted a potential implosion within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Speaking to reporters in Kolkata on Wednesday, Banerjee claimed that several MPs from the NDA are unhappy with the current leadership and are considering leaving the coalition. “Many of them are in touch with us,” she said.

Banerjee’s remarks come amidst recent rumblings within the NDA, particularly over the issue of India’s foreign policy. Several NDA constituents, including the Shiv Sena, have expressed concerns about the government’s handling of relations with China.

The TMC leader further stated that the cracks within the NDA are likely to widen in the run-up to the 2024 general elections. “They (the NDA parties) are all fighting among themselves,” she said. “This is a sign of their weakness.”

Banerjee’s prediction has raised eyebrows among political observers, who note that the NDA has been relatively stable during its tenure. However, they also acknowledge that the recent tension within the coalition could potentially lead to defections in the future.
