EXCLUSIVE: Taran Adarsh Believes Hindi Film Will Enter Rs. 500 Crore Club in 2024

Renowned film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh believes that there’s a strong possibility of a Hindi film entering the coveted Rs. 500 crore club in 2024.

“Did anyone expect ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawan’ and ‘Animal’ to cross the Rs. 500 crore mark?” Adarsh said in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama. “These films have the potential to create new benchmarks.”

Adarsh pointed out that the industry has witnessed a significant change in audience preferences over the past few years. “Audiences are now more open to watching diverse content, and this has opened up opportunities for films from all genres to succeed financially,” he said.

He also cited the growing popularity of OTT platforms as a factor that could contribute to the success of Hindi films in the future. “OTT platforms have made it easier for audiences to access content, and this could lead to a wider reach for films,” Adarsh said.

However, Adarsh cautioned that the industry should not become over-reliant on big-budget films. “It’s important to maintain a balance between big-budget and small-budget films,” he said. “Small-budget films can often be more innovative and experimental, and they can also connect with audiences on a deeper level.”

Overall, Adarsh is optimistic about the future of the Hindi film industry. “The industry is in a good place right now, and there are a lot of exciting films in the pipeline,” he said. “I believe that 2024 could be a landmark year for Hindi cinema.”
