Farida Jalal Recalls Disappointment After No Response from Yash Chopra

Veteran actress Farida Jalal recently expressed her disappointment over the lack of response she received from legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra after expressing her desire to work with him.

In an interview with a leading Indian media outlet, Jalal revealed that she had sent a letter to Chopra, expressing her admiration for his work and her keenness to collaborate on a project. However, she never received a response, which hurt her deeply.

“I remember writing a letter. I didn’t have his number or address. I wrote a beautiful letter, expressing my desire to work with him… But I never got a response. It hurt me a lot,” Jalal said.

The actress noted that she found it particularly disheartening because she had always admired Chopra’s films and considered it an honor to work with him.

“His films were so different. I wanted to be a part of his cinematic legacy. But he didn’t respond,” she added.

Jalal’s experience highlights the unpredictable nature of the entertainment industry, where loyalties can shift and opportunities may not materialize. Nonetheless, she expressed her gratitude for the opportunities she has received throughout her career and remains hopeful about the future.

“People shift loyalties. They don’t remember me or anybody else. But that’s okay. I’m not complaining. I’ve had a great run. I’m still working,” she said.

Farida Jalal is a renowned Indian actress with a career spanning over five decades. She has appeared in over 200 films and television shows and has received numerous awards for her work, including the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honor.
