Former Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has responded to Elon Musk’s recent remark about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in India, stating that he is “happy to run a tutorial” for the Tesla CEO. Musk, in a tweet, had expressed concerns about the reliability of EVMs in Indian elections, citing the lack of paper trail.

Chandrasekhar, in his response, emphasized the robustness of India’s election process and the transparency of the EVMs. He highlighted the fact that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has implemented stringent security protocols and rigorous testing procedures to ensure the integrity of the voting machines.

“The ECI has a long and proud tradition of conducting free and fair elections in India. EVMs are a robust system that has been tested and proven over time. We are happy to share our experience and expertise with anyone who is interested in learning more,” Chandrasekhar said.

He also pointed out that India has a long history of democratic elections and that the EVMs have been instrumental in ensuring the efficient and secure conduct of these elections.

The exchange between Musk and Chandrasekhar has sparked a debate about the reliability of EVMs and the integrity of Indian elections. However, it is important to note that the ECI has consistently maintained that EVMs are a secure and reliable system, and that the election process is conducted with utmost transparency and fairness.
