“I Am Sorry If…”: Naveen Patnaik’s Key Aide VK Pandian Quits Politics

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – In a surprising move, Naveen Patnaik’s close associate and key advisor, VK Pandian, has announced his decision to retire from active politics. Pandian, who has served as Patnaik’s principal secretary for over a decade, made the announcement at a press conference in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

Pandian, known for his administrative acumen and close bond with Patnaik, stated that he had informed the Chief Minister of his decision a few months ago. He expressed his gratitude to Patnaik for the opportunities and support he had received during his tenure as principal secretary.

“I have decided to disassociate myself from active politics. I owe a debt of gratitude to our beloved Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, for his mentorship and guidance,” Pandian said.

When asked if he had any plans to join another political party, Pandian emphatically denied any such intentions. “I am not joining any other political party. I am cutting ties with politics altogether,” he asserted.

Speculation is rife about the reasons behind Pandian’s sudden decision to quit politics. Some believe that it may be due to health issues, while others suggest that he may have been sidelined within the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

However, Pandian remained tight-lipped when questioned about the specific reasons for his departure. “I am sorry if I have hurt or disappointed anyone with my decision,” he said.

Naveen Patnaik, who was present at the press conference, praised Pandian for his contributions to the state of Odisha. “VK Pandian has been a valuable asset to our government and the people of Odisha. I wish him well in his future endeavors,” Patnaik said.

Pandian’s resignation is a significant development in Odisha’s political landscape. He was considered one of the most influential figures within the BJD and his exit could have implications for the party’s future.
