New Delhi, June 18, 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda is likely to return to the Union Cabinet in the upcoming expansion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, according to sources close to the party.

Nadda, who has been the party chief since 2020, played a crucial role in the BJP’s landslide victory in the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and other states. He is considered a close confidant of Prime Minister Modi and is said to have his full support.

Sources indicate that Nadda is likely to be given a key ministerial portfolio, such as Home, Finance, or External Affairs. His return to the Cabinet would be a significant move, as he is considered a potential successor to Modi as the party’s leader.

Nadda previously served as Health Minister in the Modi 1.0 government from 2014 to 2017. He is known for his administrative skills and his ability to bridge the differences within the BJP’s various factions.

The expansion of the Modi 3.0 Cabinet is expected to take place soon after the completion of the ongoing Parliament session. Several other leaders from the BJP and its allies are also expected to join the government, including some who were dropped during the previous cabinet reshuffle in 2021.

The inclusion of JP Nadda in the cabinet would be a strategic move by the BJP to strengthen its leadership and ensure continuity in the governance of the country.
