Kangana Ranaut ‘Slap’ Incident: CISF Woman Constable Booked for Assault

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has filed a complaint against a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable for allegedly slapping her at Mumbai airport. The incident occurred on Monday when Ranaut was returning from her hometown, Manali.

According to Ranaut, the constable, identified as Deepa Nagpal, slapped her and used abusive language during a security check. The actress claimed that Nagpal was upset about a previous incident in which Ranaut had reportedly refused to remove her shoes for screening.

The Mumbai Police have registered a first information report (FIR) against Nagpal under sections 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.

The CISF has denied the allegations, stating that Nagpal acted within her authority and no assault took place. However, eyewitnesses have reportedly corroborated Ranaut’s version of events.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many celebrities and activists condemning the alleged assault. The incident has also raised concerns about the treatment of women in positions of authority.

The Mumbai Police are investigating the incident and are expected to interrogate Nagpal and other witnesses. Ranaut has requested that the case be transferred to the Crime Branch for a thorough investigation.
