Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Bhavani Revanna, the wife of former Karnataka minister H.D. Revanna, in connection with a kidnap case involving her son Prajwal Revanna.

The case pertains to the alleged kidnapping of a businessman in Bengaluru in 2019. Prajwal Revanna was arrested and charged in the case. Bhavani Revanna was named as a co-accused but had initially avoided arrest.

In her bail plea, Bhavani Revanna argued that she was not involved in the kidnapping and that she was falsely implicated in the case. She also claimed that she had been cooperating with the investigation and had no intention of fleeing.

The High Court, after considering the arguments presented by the prosecution and the defense, granted Bhavani Revanna anticipatory bail with certain conditions. She has been directed to cooperate with the investigation and not interfere with witnesses.

The bail granted to Bhavani Revanna comes as a relief to her and her family. Her son Prajwal Revanna is currently out on bail in the kidnap case.

The High Court’s decision is likely to have a significant impact on the ongoing investigation into the case. The prosecution will now have to gather additional evidence to strengthen its case against Bhavani Revanna.
