Meet Modi 3.0’s Seven Women Ministers, Two Of Them Hold Cabinet Rank

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term in office has brought a significant increase in women’s representation in his cabinet and ministry. Among the seven women ministers appointed, two hold cabinet rank:

Cabinet Ministers:

Nirmala Sitharaman: Retained as the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs. Sitharaman is the second woman to hold this position in India’s history.
Smriti Irani: Promoted to Minister of Women and Child Development. She previously served as Minister of Human Resource Development and Minister of Textiles.

Ministers of State (Independent Charge):

Meenakshi Lekhi: Law and Justice; Legislative Affairs.
Anurag Thakur: Finance; Corporate Affairs.
Shobha Karandlaje: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
