Sungai Lilin, South Sumatra, Indonesia – A 54-year-old Indonesian woman who went missing three days ago has been found dead inside a python in the remote village of Sungai Lilin in South Sumatra.

The woman, identified as Jahrah, left her home on Sunday afternoon to harvest rubber from a nearby plantation. When she failed to return home by nightfall, her family became concerned and launched a search party.

On Tuesday morning, searchers discovered a large python in the plantation. Upon closer inspection, they realized that something was inside the snake’s stomach. When they cut open the snake, they found Jahrah’s body.

According to police, Jahrah had been swallowed whole by the python. She is believed to have been attacked while she was harvesting rubber, possibly from behind.

“We estimate that the python swallowed the victim around Sunday evening,” said Irsan Sinulingga, a local police spokesman. “The snake is likely to have been attracted to her movements and body heat.”

Pythons are known for their ability to swallow large prey whole. They typically attack by wrapping themselves around their victims and constricting them until they suffocate.

The incident has shocked the community and raised concerns about the dangers of wildlife in the area. Residents are now urging local authorities to implement measures to prevent similar attacks in the future.
