The newly appointed Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed his surprise over his induction into the Modi 3.0 Cabinet. Speaking to the media, he said, “Mujhe toh kuch pta hi nahi hai abhi… (I don’t have any information yet).”

Chouhan, who was sworn in as the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, said he was “honored and humbled” by the Prime Minister’s decision. He added that he would “work hard to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted upon me.”

The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister had resigned from his post earlier this month to pave the way for Jyotiraditya Scindia to take over as the state’s chief minister.

Chouhan is a veteran politician with over four decades of experience in public life. He has served as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for three terms and has held various portfolios in the state government.

The Modi 3.0 Cabinet expansion saw the induction of 43 new ministers, including seven cabinet ministers, 24 ministers of state (independent charge), and 12 ministers of state.
