Modi Cabinet 3.0: Smriti Irani and Anurag Thakur Dropped from Possible Ministerial Positions

Keywords: Modi Cabinet, Smriti Irani, Anurag Thakur, Ministerial Positions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming Cabinet reshuffle may see the omission of two prominent names: Smriti Irani and Anurag Thakur.

Sources have revealed that Irani, the current Minister of Women and Child Development, has been excluded from a recent tea meeting with Modi, which is often seen as an indication that she will not be included in the new cabinet. Meanwhile, Thakur, the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, is also facing a possible exit.

The reasons for these exclusions are unclear, but sources speculate that it may be related to a desire to bring in younger and more diverse members into the cabinet. Irani, 45, and Thakur, 46, are relatively senior members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and have held ministerial positions for several years.

The exclusion of Irani is particularly surprising as she is considered a close confidante of Modi. However, sources indicate that the Prime Minister may be seeking to promote a new generation of leaders within the party.

The final composition of the new cabinet is expected to be announced by the end of July. The reshuffle is seen as a significant opportunity for Modi to reshape his government and address the challenges facing the country.
