## Lok Sabha Elections 2024: I.N.D.I.A. Bloc Leaders Offered PM Post to Nitish Kumar Only After Polls: JD(U)

New Delhi, August 26, 2023: The Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) has claimed that leaders of the I.N.D.I.A. (Indian National Democratic Initiative Alliance) bloc offered Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar the post of Prime Minister only after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to JD(U) spokesperson K.C. Tyagi, the offer was made during a meeting between Kumar and I.N.D.I.A. convener and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in Hyderabad last week.

“The I.N.D.I.A. leaders told Kumar that they were impressed by his leadership and governance record, and that they believed he was the best candidate to lead the country after the upcoming elections,” Tyagi said.

However, Tyagi emphasized that Kumar had not yet accepted the offer and would only consider it after consulting with his party colleagues and the public.

“Kumar is a humble leader who believes in consensus decision-making. He will not make any hasty decisions and will take his time to weigh all the options before him,” Tyagi added.

The I.N.D.I.A. bloc is a group of non-Congress and non-BJP regional parties that are seeking to form a third front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The bloc includes parties such as the JD(U), the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and the Shiv Sena.

Political observers believe that the offer of the Prime Minister’s post to Kumar is a significant development in the lead-up to the 2024 elections. Kumar is seen as a potential rallying point for opposition parties seeking to challenge the incumbent BJP-led government.
