Odisha BJP Government to Open All 4 Gates of Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri, Odisha: The new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Odisha will open all four gates of the iconic Jagannath Temple in Puri on Thursday morning, allowing devotees to enter the temple complex for the first time in over two years.

The gates have been closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to reopen the temple comes after the state government received approval from the Supreme Court.

The temple’s reopening is a significant event for both the state of Odisha and the Hindu community worldwide. The Jagannath Temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India and attracts millions of devotees every year.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is expected to attend the reopening ceremony. The temple will be open from 6 am to 10 am on Thursday.

The reopening of the Jagannath Temple is a sign that the state is slowly returning to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also a major boost for the state’s tourism industry.
