Ramoji Rao Death: Last Rites Held at Ramoji Film City with Chandrababu Naidu in Attendance

Hyderabad, March 1, 2023: The last rites of media baron and founder of Ramoji Group, Ramoji Rao, were held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by prominent personalities, including former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Rao passed away at his residence in Hyderabad on Tuesday at the age of 90. He was known for his contributions to the Indian media industry, including the establishment of the Eenadu daily newspaper and the UGC Network.

The last rites were performed at the Hilltop Pedestal, a massive monument located within Ramoji Film City. The cremation was conducted by Rao’s son, Ramoji Sripathi Raju.

Naidu, who had a long-standing relationship with Rao, offered his condolences to the family and praised Rao’s legacy. “Ramoji Rao was a visionary who transformed the Indian media landscape,” Naidu said.

Other dignitaries present at the ceremony included Telangana Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud, BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy, and former Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu.

The death of Ramoji Rao has left a void in the Indian media industry. He was a pioneer who revolutionized the way news and entertainment were delivered to the masses. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of media professionals.
