Ramoji Rao, the founder of the world’s largest integrated film studio complex, Ramoji Film City, and the media baron who built the Eenadu newspaper empire, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 88.

Born in a remote village in Telangana in 1934, Rao began his career as a journalist. He founded Eenadu in 1974 and transformed it into one of the largest circulated Telugu newspapers. His foray into the film industry led to the establishment of Ramoji Film City in 1996, which has hosted countless film and television productions over the years.
