Rishabh Pant’s Honest Admission on Viral Chant

During the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash at the Dubai International Stadium, a chant that echoed through the stands drew widespread attention. The chant, “Tel lagao Dabur ka, wicket lo Babar ka” (Apply Dabur oil, take Babar’s wicket), became a viral sensation on social media.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has now addressed the chant in an honest interview. Pant admitted that the chant was not intended to disrespect Pakistan captain Babar Azam but rather to create a friendly and competitive atmosphere.

“We didn’t mean to disrespect Babar or Pakistan. It was just a bit of fun, a way to pump up the crowd and ourselves,” said Pant. “We have a lot of respect for Babar and the Pakistan team, and we were just trying to create a bit of a buzz.”

Pant went on to say that chants and banter are a natural part of cricket. “It’s all part of the game,” he said. “We do it in India, Pakistan does it, and every other team does it. It’s just a way to show our passion and enthusiasm for the sport.”

Pant’s admission is a refreshing reminder that even in the heat of a high-stakes match, sportsmanship and respect should always prevail. The viral chant may have sparked some controversy, but Pant’s genuine and lighthearted response has helped to diffuse any lingering tension.
