Stimac Announces 23-Player Squad for King’s Cup

Indian national football team head coach Igor Stimac has named a 23-player squad for the upcoming King’s Cup tournament in Thailand. The tournament, which will be held from July 21-24, will feature India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Curacao.

The squad includes several key players who were part of India’s recent AFC Asian Cup qualifiers campaign. The team will be led by goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. Sandesh Jhingan, Anwar Ali, and Rahul Bheke will form the backline, while Brandon Fernandes, Anirudh Thapa, and Glan Martins will provide the creativity in midfield.

Up front, talisman Sunil Chhetri will be joined by young stars Lallianzuala Chhangte and Manvir Singh.

Stimac believes that the squad he has selected is capable of competing at the King’s Cup.

“We have selected a strong and balanced squad for the King’s Cup,” Stimac said. “The players are all in good form and are eager to represent their country.”
