Suspected insurgents launched a series of coordinated attacks on police outposts and civilian homes in the Jiribam district of Manipur on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the attackers, believed to be members of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), targeted three police outposts in the district. Two of the outposts were set on fire, while the third was attacked with explosives.

In addition to the attacks on police installations, the insurgents also set fire to several homes in the town of Jiribam. Local residents fled their homes in panic as the attackers rampaged through the town.

No casualties have been reported so far, but several people have been injured. The injured have been taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Security forces have been deployed to the area to control the situation. Search operations have been launched to apprehend the attackers.

The motive behind the attacks is still unclear. The UNLF has not claimed responsibility for the attacks, but it is suspected that they may be linked to the ongoing peace talks between the government of India and the insurgent group.

The Jiribam district is located in the southern part of Manipur and is bordering the state of Assam. It is a strategically important area for both the Indian government and the UNLF.

The attacks in Jiribam have raised concerns about the security situation in the region. The peace talks between the government and the UNLF have been ongoing for several years, but they have yet to yield concrete results.
