Three MPs from Andhra Pradesh Sworn in as Union Ministers

New Delhi: Three Members of Parliament (MPs) from Andhra Pradesh were sworn in as Union Ministers in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s expanded cabinet on Wednesday, July 7, 2022.

Kishan Reddy: The former Minister of State for Home Affairs was elevated to Cabinet rank as the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of North-Eastern Region.
G. Kishan Reddy: The former President of the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was sworn in as the Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
Panabaka Lakshmi: The MP from Tirupati was sworn in as the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi and was presided over by President Ram Nath Kovind.

The induction of three MPs from Andhra Pradesh into the Union cabinet is seen as a significant move by the BJP to strengthen its presence in the southern state. It is also being seen as a recognition of the contributions made by the state to the party’s success in the recent Assembly elections.
