Vikramaditya, Unfortunate, Budget

Bengaluru, March 8: Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday alleged that the state Budget was “unfortunate” and did not meet the expectations of the people.

“The Budget has not met the expectations of the people. It is unfortunate that the government has not allocated enough funds for important sectors like education, health and agriculture,” said Siddaramaiah.

“The government has also not provided any relief to the common man who is struggling with rising prices and unemployment,” he added.

Siddaramaiah’s comments came after state chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa presented the Budget in the assembly earlier in the day.

Yediyurappa, however, defended the Budget saying that it was a “pro-people” Budget which would address the needs of all sections of the society.

“I believe that this is a pro-people Budget which will address the needs of all sections of the society. I urge everyone to support the Budget,” said Yediyurappa.
