[Watch] 6, 6! Ball Goes Higher, George Munsey On Fire

George Munsey smashed back-to-back sixes in a boundary-laden innings that helped guide Surrey to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Northamptonshire in the Vitality Blast at The Kia Oval.

The Scotland international, who has been in impressive form throughout the tournament, finished unbeaten on 51 off just 26 deliveries, including seven fours and two sixes.

After Northamptonshire had posted a challenging 194-5, Surrey chased down the total with ease, reaching 198-3 with more than two overs to spare.

Munsey played a key role in the chase, coming to the crease at 34-2 and immediately setting about the Northamptonshire attack.

He launched two towering sixes in the space of a few balls, the first off the bowling of Brett Hutton soaring over the long-on boundary and the second, even more impressive, off Richard Gleeson sailing over long-off.

Munsey’s innings helped to lay the platform for Surrey’s victory, and he was ably supported by fellow opener Jason Roy (42 off 38) and Sam Curran (45 off 28).

Roy and Munsey put on an opening stand of 80 before Roy was caught by Tom Taylor off the bowling of Hutton.

Munsey continued to score freely, bringing up his fifty off just 23 deliveries with a four through the covers off the bowling of Taylor.

Curran then joined Munsey at the crease and the pair added a further 78 runs for the third wicket before Curran was caught by Ben Curran off the bowling of Gleeson.

Munsey remained unbeaten at the crease to see Surrey home to a comfortable victory.
