Dubai: Pakistan captain Babar Azam was caught on camera ignoring the advice of senior pacer Mohammad Amir during the second T20I against England in Dubai on Thursday.

In the 8th over of England’s innings, with Liam Livingstone and Dawid Malan at the crease, Amir was seen suggesting Azam bowl the pacer at the batsmen. However, Azam declined Amir’s request and opted to bring in Shadab Khan instead.

The decision proved costly as Livingstone smashed Khan for a boundary and a six in the next three balls. Malan then hit the last ball of the over for four, giving England a total of 15 runs.

Azam’s decision was criticized by fans and experts alike, who felt that he should have listened to Amir’s experience. Pakistan eventually lost the match by 45 runs, with Amir picking up two wickets while Khan went wicketless.
